Services
MonsterFM.com/Broadcast Services recognizes the value of the Low Power FM
(LPFM) service to many of our current customers and a wide variety of
prospective clients. To help you decide whether LPFM is right for you we have
provided the LPFM Resource Center. This website will also serve as a
clearinghouse for information and links related to this topic, so please check
back regularly.
If you have questions please e-mail engineering@MonsterFM.com,
and we will provide an answer as quickly and accurately as possible. You can
also call us.
The first step to applying for an LPFM license is to determine whether a frequency is available for use in your community. There are many organizations and individuals who can perform this service but we have decided to offer the frequency search for no fee. The information needed to perform such a search is available through the FCC and other sources for free, but it does take time to properly search the databases and check for airport clearances, Channel 6 television interference, AM tower distances and the other criteria of concern. However, since directional antenna calculations and costly pattern calculations are not necessary MonsterFM.com/Broadcast Services can offer this service for free. To order a frequency search please click on the information request form link below. Fill in the form from your web browser, and, as soon as we complete your search, we'll notify you of the results. We are also offering an application service for our customers who would like assistance with that process. The LPFM filings will be rather simple and will not require a lot of paperwork, but we will perform this service for you at a rate comparable to the frequency search fee. This can be arranged through the use of the same form as used for frequency searches. Frequency Search/Preliminary Application Form
The MonsterFM.com/Broadcast Services LPFM equipment package is offered for successful applicants awarded a construction permit (CP) by the FCC. It is likely to be many months, possibly 2001, before a construction permit is granted. However, we know that you need equipment costs in order to budget for such a station. We are in negotiations with many distributors and manufacturers to guarantee you the reasonable prices MonsterFM.com/Broadcast Services has always offered the market. Please check back as we continue to offer updates on this and other topics. Several clarifications of the rules presented in the Report and Order (FCC 00-19) will affect price significantly, therefore we will provide you with a range of prices right now so that you can work with "ballpark" figures. Cost for the transmitter, feed-line, antenna, connectors and other related items will probably fall in the $5,000-10,000 range. We will also offer packages of inexpensive studio equipment, but we expect that many customers will try to fill studio needs through other sources. We will be happy to offer studio equipment if it helps you and your project.
